Hey, speaking of driving, I had a nice drive into work with this "Bits and Pieces" CD some guy named Byrnes made for me way back when; not one skip on my van's CD player. I liked that Supertramp meets regret tune, about being sorry for all of the world's problems. It fed my spirit well because that's kind of how the prayers in my heart unwind as I drive into work; I tell God I'm sorry for all of the atrocities out there, because I know somehow we're all responsible. It goes deep, this sense of community responsibility for everything, but it's true to some degree in the mystic realm of it all, and that's the basis of The Catholic Church's teachings on indulgences.

Makes me wonder, are we living on the edge, or just growing old? In my case, it would be all of the above. :-b

SUPERTRAMP!!?? SUPERTRAMP??!! Well, no accounting for references, no? Anyhow, interesting take on the song. My intent was to sing a character who was delusional and thought that ALL of the world's problems were his fault. So, yeah, I guess I get the Catholic connection.

You can make jokes, but I can really relate to that song!
Say someone in my family got into a bad relationship. Maybe if "I" would have shown them more love, or said those things that were hard to say,  or prayed for them harder, or took more time with them, or been more sensitive to things they were going through or feeling, it never would have happened. Think about it, we're really all to blame. But it's not like compounding guilt onto myself, it's like having a deep sense in my heart that we ALL truly share it. The truth is, we're all to blame for everything. And if we're not directly to blame, we need to be so sorry and remorseful for the person in that sin and the situation, that we actually want to share the blame and take on the penalties ourselves. I'm not anywhere near being a good or very articulate theologian, but that's how Christ feels about us. He doesn't want to judge us, He is sorry for us, and wants to help us, and He's very quick to forgive us, just like we are anxious to forgive and help our own children or loved ones who are struggling and trying to get it right.

Not sure what all the fuss of the Supertramp reference was. Just since a few of their bigger songs have a prominent electric piano, I tend to think of  them when I hear another song that does that.
